This distinctive
dining restaurant located in downtown Effingham,
at the corner of Banker and Jefferson, provides
a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere for business or
pleasure.
Rexroats is named
for the founders, Marcia and Paul Rexroat, who
opened the restaurant in 1983. A fantastic cook,
Marcia catered many events from her home.
Friends encouraged her to open a restaurant,
offering fresh food unlike what you might find
in a franchise.
In 2007, Chefs
Evan Hixenbaugh and his fiancé,
Danielle, purchased the restaurant. Graduates
from the California School of Culinary Arts in
Pasadena, California,
Evan and Danielle have made subtle
changes to the menu and décor, much to the
satisfaction of the patrons. With a passion for
food, they take a personal interest in every
meal – you may see them in the kitchen or
delivering your meal to your table! They
are committed to making your dining experience
wonderful!
